This instant hypnosis induction is most commonly used in stage hypnosis and public shows, however it can be applied to a clinical setting just as effectively.
Due to the overload of the conscious mind, a person typically exhibits a deeper state then the typical progressive relaxation induction most often practiced by other hypnotherapists.
The idea behind an instant hypnosis induction is to start to tie up a person’s critical factor, thus in a direct way bombarding their defensive portions of their mind out of the way.
By doing this, their subconscious mind is therefore able to accept suggestions for change much more readily.

Instant Hypnosis Induction:
Said directly to your subject
“Stand toward me. That’s right.”
“Now step forward.” (Place right hand on your subjects head, supporting the base of their skull. Grasp the subjects right arm at the elbow with your left hand)
“Bring your feet closer together. Closer. That is right. Breathe in deeply.” (With a sudden forward pulling movement of the hands, gently jerk the topic towards you)
“Sleep now!” (Said with conviction and command)
(If the subject’s legs start to bend or buckle) “Just as a horse can stand and sleep while not losing its balance, thus too your legs are sturdy beneath you. You can stand and sleep.”
(Alternate to horse description) “Your legs are stiff and strong underneath you, continuing to support your whole body as you stand erect and straight.”
